Nostalgia in Every Bite: The Painting That Takes Me Home

Growing up in a lakefront home, the water was my playground. Some of my fondest memories were spent learning to fish off the docks at my grandpa's marina. I'm pretty sure a bluegill was the very first fish I ever caught. Those early catches, so numerous, painted the canvas of my childhood with shades of blue orange, green and gold.

I wanted to capture the essence of that familiar, iridescent blue-green, the warm copper tones, and the characteristic spiky dorsal fin with an incredible sense of texture and life. The abstract background, with its earthy browns and vibrant turquoise, reminds me of the rich, underwater world and the reflection of the sky on the water where I spent countless hours.

This painting is more than just art to me; it's a connection to my roots, to those long summer days, and to the joy of simple pleasures. I hope it brings a touch of that same warmth and connection to your home, wherever you may be.
